February 6, 2006I recently had my clutch slip under load, so I figure it's about shot and it gives me a chance to get a performance clutch. I'm planning on getting #10 fuel plate, 370 injectors, intake, 3000gsk, fass fuel system, and maybe a turbo. Any ideas on what brand or what hp or torque I would be looking at?

February 9, 2006South Bend Clutch. Call and talk to Peter. He is very helpful.
February 10, 2006Any idea on what hp or torque I'd be at with a fass, #10 plate, intake, and hx-40 turbo? I was planning on getting the 450 hp/ 1000 ft lb 13" clutch, even though it kills me to spend that much money on a clutch.
February 10, 2006If you plan on making some serious power and going to tow with it. You need to get a dual disk and call it done my
February 11, 2006Well seeing as how I've never owned a 12 valve that would be a hard guess. I would say with a #10 plate and HX40 you will go somewhere in the mid 300's maybe a little higher. Like I said I don't know much about what each upgrade will do on a 12valve. I would think you would need some 370 injectors to get over 400hp. If you will tell me what the plate is supposed to add I might be able to guess better.
On another note. You should really talk to Peter. I had a dual disc and it was a pain in a$$ for everyday driving. I think an 0FE or FE would do. Dual Disc will last a long time but your transmission synros won't like it. That is just my .02
February 11, 2006One more thing. Why do you want a FASS? As I understand the 12 valve has a mechanical lift pump. I've seen trucks pull 500+ using the standard lift pump.
February 11, 2006The #10 produces 330hp/750ft lb plate vs. 215hp/440ft lb stock. I was looking at the OFE 13" clutch rated ate 450/1000 . . . I figured that would be enough over to hold while towing? I am planning on getting a FASS pump only, because I rode in a 12 valve with a 100 hp plate and we shut it off at a fast food place after hod rodding it, when we tried to start it, we had to crank forever to get fuel to it again.
February 11, 2006well then that truck has issues .... mine has more hp than that and I dont have any issues. I run the areomotive pump for racing not all the time
February 12, 2006so your saying I could save mysellf about $400 and not get the fass, right? Also, now I think I will lightly mod with just a #10 plate, 3000gsk, and probably an HTT hybrid hx35/hx40 or a piers hx35. That way, i could get away with a single disc clutch and still tow plenty of weight without worry.
February 13, 2006I would say a FASS for your truck would be a waste of money. In other words no I wouldn't buy it for a 12 valve truck. If you are not going to do injectors then I would say the HTT would be best for ya. I just don't think the Piers HX35 will give you much of a gain over the stocker for the money. With what you have mentioned I would say 315 hp and 700 ftlbs would be good numbers to expect. There are some other mods you can do to the pump. I'm not for sure what exactly but I believe there is something called sliding the plate. Where you slide it back so that the pump puts out more fuel over the entire rpm range. I've also heard of adjusting the AFC.
